NYC Temple / Chinatown / Blue Man Group

This past weekend we started our NYC trip with a temple trip. The Manhattan temple is gorgeous. Once inside, you can't hear a thing from the outside world.

This is "us" in front of the temple. Our pictures turned out really bad.

In front of a Chinese Barbeque we ate at.

I ended up eating Duck and Chicken. Yum.

Katie enjoyed spending quality time with her 2 favorite things: Asians and Me.

Since we already visited the LDS temple, we decided to take a walk by the Manhattan Buddhist temple as well.

Asian Homer getting frisky...

Good times

Lastly, we saw the Blue Man Group (thanks Russ & Lauren). It was a very funny and creative show. It reminded me of Bryan, Shaun, and Steve...

St. Patty's Day with Letterman

On St. Patrick's Day we went into NYC and got on the David Letterman Show with Russ & Lauren. The guests that night were Brooke Shields, Seth Meyers, and (my personal favorite) a crazy band called "The Gutter Twins".

Sloshed at the Irish pub with leprechauns.

Right after the show finished

The Gutter Twins...just kidding. The band was horrible, so much that this image is more entertaining than they were.

Easter Weekend in Connecticut

Over Easter weekend we traveled up to Niantic, Connicticut where we met up with some of Katie's extended family: Jared and Darcy. We've never been up there before, but we had a great time.

Here is Katie walking on the CT beach. Needless to say its not quite California.

Here is the creepy sailor in front of the house that we stayed at.
We visited the Aquarium in Mystic, CT.

Us in front of a Beluga whale.

Kate bye some Sea Lions.

A poor replica of the statue to our right.

Inspired by the Aquarium, we went to go eat sea food!

Here's another shot of the house we stayed in.

Russell and Katie darting off to find their Easter Baskets.

Jelly man that we found in the water.

Us at the dock.

Us with the scary sailor man.

Katie and the Orchids

Katie, her sisters, sister in law, and mom went to an Orchid Garden on 3/20/2008 in NYC. Usually I try to have some kind of witty comment about the event, but since I wasn't there, I can't make such a comment. I'll just say that it was pretty.

Watching the UT Jazz @ NJ Nets

This past weekend we went to see the Jazz play the Nets. It was a great game and we had a fun time, up until the last 2 minutes when the Jazz lost...But that's ok, cause they'll still be in the finals.Enjoying the pre-game show. And no, that is not my gut. It is a collection of my cell phone, car keys, and wallet. When my gut begins to protrude that far, believe me, I'll be the first to announce it.

Watching the Booze do his biznus

Made some signs that said, "Go Jazz - Hi Mom - Send Money." What can you expect? We're on the Itern budget.

On the night of March 7th, we helped Derek celebrate his last night as a single man. It was a great triumphant event. Join me ...Round of Steaks for the Gents. One of them got chicken. Whimp
After dinner, we went to the home and played a little game with Derek. He got punished every time he got a question wrong. Nice arm Zach!

After the game, we got our Slash on and played Rockband

Tom's Baptism

This weekend we had a neat experience with the church. Over the past couple of weeks we've gotten to know Thomas Bickel, a man who's been investigating the church. He's came to our home a few times with the sister missionaries and on Sunday March 2nd he was baptized. The sisters knocked on his door during superbowl sunday, and luckily he's more of an MLB fan anyway! Que la obra progrese!
